Hemlig drops from Storviks Hjaltar  080226

Hemlig has decided to quit from the clan upon discovering that he was too good for the rookie division. He had played some years back and when playing in rookies he pretty much owned the opponents. Anyway, we hope that more players could act like this when discovering they are way to good for their current group. You are welcome to try and join a clan in a higher group and we think that the whole qw scene would appreciate such conduct from more players than hemlig.

We have recieved a lot of complaints about clans and players being either too good or too bad for certain groups. Well ther will always be errors and we cannot start kicking people when we let them play in the first place. So, if you are very good in your current group try joining a higher division unless it means making your old team idle because of lack of members.

What language is kudos, and is it the new cool word to use? I thought it was kurwa, so i say kurwas to him.

Kudos = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudos

Anyway, good to see this going this way. I hope we can rematch their clan. It would be now quite a close call. So he wasn't fake? Just too good..

kudos hemlig, but quitting after the 3 most important wins is a bit strange.. from now, storvik can be succeeded without you. Are there any opportunity to rematch these games?

I don't like to see this happening. If Hemlig is part of the clan then he should not feel pressured to leave it. It is unreasonable to expect people to leave their friends and teammates and go play with some randomers in a higher division just because they don't blow themselves up every time they get quad. Mistakes are made, and if Hemlig's clan _as a unit_ wins all their matches by a lot, then it was a mistake for them to be in rookie, and c'est la vie.

p.s., I hate when people sign off as "The crew" - why can't you put your real name? How many of you collaborated on this news item?

It can be more interesting and certainly more challenging to play in higher level team. When Chosen was very fresh DM clan (coming from TF), I opted out cause it was just too boring and embarrasing to play in rookie games when I had a little DM experience already.

If one player is way better than the others, it's just a one man show. Doesn't matter if they are married with children, it's still bad quake.

I agree that it is more interesting and more challenging to play against players that match your skill, but best of all is to play alongside your mates. The best games I ever had were with my friends from school on LAN vs some other guys from school who had formed a clan. It didn't make a difference that I dominated the game and won it for my team - I had every right to be on my team, and it meant so much more than playing with "just some guys on the internet". If Hemlig was genuinely just bored and not enjoying the "bad quake" when it was too easy for him, then that's OK - I support his decision to leave. But if he left just because other clans were complaining, then I feel bad.

Hedgepid: The vast majority of all decision is taken by the entire crew. Even if this wasn't a decision taken, I'm sure the whole NQR crew shares the opinion stated in the news post. Do you realize what kind of whine a single admin could endure (public AND non-public) if he himself put his signature on a 'not so well received' news post, even if the decision was taken by the entire crew?

(former NQR admin, so no affiliation with the current NQR crew.)

Ganjalf - 84.239.213.*** 080226 @ 18:57:25
Yea.. I think Hemlig left because we whined out loud. But rematch would be a nice thing. Nothing against losing games but one man show is quite frustrating. :)

soma - omg.hai.2.u 080226 @ 19:05:24
I think asking for rematch might be a little over the top, don't you think? He made a pretty decent move by leaving the clan so games could be more even, which in turn might have been a little frustrating for him. I don't think you need to be much of a prophet to foresee that Coitus is gonna make it to the playoffs. If you both carry on with playing your games, you might just get your rematch in a couple of weeks. :)

Hooraytio - 89.160.23.*** 080226 @ 20:26:52
We do know that many clans consist of friends from either real life or friends who have been playing together for a long time. We are not going to tell anyone to split up from that because they have shown to be too good (when ppl get angry because a certain player gets too many frags) for this or that tier.

All we are saying is that we encourage players who might have ended up in a too low tier to take on the challenge of a higher tier as long as it does not damage their old team too much. Closer games or actually losing some are not seen as this sort of damage but idling or quitting because of a player is leaving is. We know some mistakes have been made when it comes to placing clans and now some players could actually help us out IF they want to since we cannot start kicking players we let in to a tier in the first place.

djevulsk, it is a pet hate of mine. I know what kind of reaction the admin would get, but I like people to be responsible for their own words, even if they have the support of the crew. At worst, you sign it with more than one name. That is my opinion, obviously I'm not going to drill on that too much because it is not a big deal until you start hiding behind the name "the crew" in order to avoid personal accountability. Personally, I think people should be less afraid of whine. A league organiser in particular should have the stomach to take some heat.

Hooraytio, you are correct, making an appeal for higher div players to go and play in their proper division is the right thing for the league to do in order to restore balance by weeding out any players who are indifferent enough to heed the call. However, I am giving my 2c to counter the tide of animosity unfairly directed at the handful of remaining players who choose to stand by their clan. Threats of boycotts and incessant incoherent complaints are not the way forward. Best thing to do actually is get on voice comms (if you don't already use it) and make a particular effort to neutralise this one player in game - track him when he gets RL and boomstick him before he makes it to RA. The league admins have chosen to allow him to play with his clanmates in the league so "stop your fucking crying", quit trying to take the law into your own hands, and boomstick him like a madman.

I wouldn't have had a problem with storvikhs if they won as a team. In these matches hemlig was pretty much winning the games for them (not to bash the rest of the team). I think the matches should be re-played so storvikhs has a chance of showing just how good their teamplay is without one really good individual.. I for one have thought about trying to make it to a better division because I have been doing quite well for now, we will see for the future. If someone has a issue with me playing in the rookie div I hope you talk to me about it. I have no problem with stepping down from my current clan if the majority of rookie players don't think I belong in this div [/rant] :)

Falzzi - 212.149.197.*** 080226 @ 23:05:35
*in the future ofcourse ;>

fisto - 81.236.232.*** 080226 @ 23:09:47
Very smart of him, if he didnt like the whine that started, to fake! Like the most retarded thing to do if he wanted to stay in okidokirookie.

lib - 213.100.62.*** 080227 @ 01:19:35
so what's his real nick then?
i mean it's great that he's gone but i don't buy for a second he didn't know he was too good for the div. seems like he knew exactly what he was doing and then got out when people got too pissed about it. but who knows.

Ganjalf - 84.239.213.*** 080227 @ 02:23:49
I agree with Falzzi to step aside or make my move on higher div on this/next season thou' strongest opponents in rookie div are yet to come. Letīs see what happens. 4on4 is a "new" thing for me and this is my first season in nqr ever . Been playing strong and getting better. No crying anymore :D Many thrilling games to play. "Practice, practice, practice and everything will happen":P And maybe we make our way to playoffs and get rematch against Stovikh. ;)

Hooraytio - 89.160.23.*** 080227 @ 02:48:01
hemlig didnt tell us so we dont know

nice spirit ganjalf, keep it up

micke - 213.226.126.*** 080227 @ 05:45:41
If you guys want rematch i totaly understand that. Would be unfair against the other teams otherwise. At least i am up for it, dont know for the other guys in storvikH. The more quake the marrier. I mean we play for fun win or loose doesnt mather that much really. We are a couple of IRL friends who wanted to play togehter in some league and we thought we would loose big in rookie league even with hemlig. 4 of 5 hasnt played since the big LANs in the 90s so maybe well gett som fraggin going in season 12? =) happy quakin...

Kwibus - 77.249.58.*** 080227 @ 05:47:11
I appreciate it that Hemlig left the Rookie league. He didnt have to imo, but Im certainly happy he did it voluntary. (ok, with a little pressure:))

p.s. Falzzi, You could indeed play in Bronze, but your not like Hemlig.
Against us on dm2 you had a madscore, but that was because we didnt have any tactics and you guys sure had tactics and you happened to be their best player and thus quadrunner. (lot of and:/ )
And we were great rocketfodder at low rl so that was a nice way to rake up the frags:)

My experience with Coitus is that you guys know how to perform the basics of qw teamplay which is more then enough to beat us (CN) and you are their 'starplayer', but you arent the player that is always their topfragger. Hemlig certainly is for Storvik:)

Falzzi - 212.149.197.*** 080228 @ 01:14:45
Kwibus nice post :)

Those are my thoughts exactly; We (coi) dont have one guy who is totally dominating the games like storvik had. Me and ganjalf have been doing good but so has everyone else in our team. Hopefully the rookie div can keep on running without (too much :) drama from now on.

sphere - 81.224.137.*** 080229 @ 06:16:59
I think "hemlig" could be tha-inter(face)
