NQR Summer Cup website launched! 040526

Yes that's right, the first ever NQR Summer Cup has been launched. Incorporating a Custom Cup and a Classic Cup, this new 4on4 cup competition is now open for signups.
So go read the rules and signup!
Signups will close at midnight on Friday 11th June, and hopefully the competitions will begin the following Monday.

Link, ukpak2 is a map which I have played a handful of times in old UK tournaments, and a map which I always enjoyed playing. I thought it was worth testing on a larger scene as I think it has potential. If it turns outto be shit, no biggie, that's what this tournament is for; giving teams a chance to learn maps that might be included in future NQRs (cmt1b,cmt3,e3m6tdm) and giving maps which haven't been thoroughly tested a chance. But what the fuck is the point in insulting me by calling my choices narrow and idiotic? Not to mention retarded. Expressing your opinion is one thing but doing it in that manner isn't necessary on this website or any. |

You choose UKPAK2 because, as YOU say; I LIKE IT. So that is a pretty NON-OBJECTIVE chocie, yes? "maps which haven't been thoroughly tested a chance" - allow me to lol :> What about maps like grim, schlosb1, midcit, e3m7tdm etc etc etc. Why not THEM? Plz give me a good answer :) |

Because those maps were not mentioned in the qw.nu thread about the Summer Cup; they were not suggested by anyone else in the admin team; only grim has been suggested thus far in the NQR end of season poll (and only once at that); and I'll be honest, I'm not very familiar with them. I wanted to have 2xCMT, 1xTDM and 2 other maps, it wasn't easy to pick 2 and I took a few factors into consideration, namely that team-up was supposedly approaching, and that that would give exposure to grim/schlossb1 anyway... |

I looked at all UKPAK and UKCL maps, OVER and OVER again, because some UK dudes REALLY wanted them in teamup. But no matter HOW MUCH i look at it and learn it, I still dont find them any special at all. But hey, thats MY PERSONAL opinion! :) And leaving out cmt2 is pretty lol, but I guess UKPAK2 is WAAAY better than cmt2! :))) |

error: i like e3m6tdm so much. i hope it will be voted in for regular nqr over e2m2tdm. i enjoy cmt4, as it has a simple design but it affords for some very interesting team positioning tactics. That said, my personal preference for an nqr classic map pool would be:
