So it was time for the Bronze/3rd place game in NQR Season 2. Pretty high pings on both sides but i belive CMF suffered the most though.
First Map DM3, was CMF's choice. CMF got a nice firm grip in the beginning and started to get a frag-gap to HGC, the HGC players faught as hard as they could but more often they were out-tooled by CMF, and therefore lost many fights. There were some furious battles over Pent, but HGC never got back into the game and when they occassionally ran the Quad they didn't have power to support their Quadified attacks and the abillity to secure any vital positions for longer periods. Nice played by CMF. |

Now it was time for HGC map of choice DM2. Many of the observers put their money on CMF, and many thaught this would be an eazy 2-0 victory for CMF, they thaught very wrong ;). Because HGC had no intentions what so ever to let CMF get the bronze the eazy way. It started out chaotic as allways, but from what i remember CMF got quite early control and started to spawn frag quite alot. They got a lead with about ~60 frags or something and not that many minutes remaining on the game timer..time was running out fast for HGC. They mounted a nice retalitory attack vs Quad/Water/Telly Area...and the CMF players were forced into retreat..and now the hunt begun, HGC hunted down every single CMF player, by doing this HGC got some eazy spawn frags. They gain lots of frags every minute and CMF was getting desperate, the CMF boys eventually outmanned the Low Rl guard and got a few RL's, tooled with RL and 200A they went for the Quadified strenght, a furious battle took place around Quad area, ppl tk:ing eachother, ppl boring all over the place but eventually CMF got the Quad..and mopped up Water and Telly area, but if im not misstaken, CMF did one of thoose famous "FINNE BROEST"..and if i might add..he had Quad, Auch! By doing this they invited HGC back into the game and they got with 30 sec left on the game timer CMF only had a 3 frag lead...and between 1 sec left of game - Game over, Knight got a frag and tied the game. HGC had the better tools at OT though and got the victory of DM2, really nice played by both clans *Phew*! |

So it was time for the decider, wich was decided by both teams to be E1M2.
The tention and nerves were really present =). The start was pretty even, can't really remeber who got first Quad, allthough CMF got control over the vital areas pretty soon, such as; YA/GL and Quad area, HGC mounted several attacks vs Quad and from time to time they got the Quad. CMF had the best tools though and managed to get the upperhand, and thereby they got a nice frag gap. Wich they held on to for quite awhile, HGC never gave up though and faught brave, trying desperatly to get back into the game. And they got control over Quad and Ya a few times but CMF had a to big lead for HGC to catch up. GG Both clans! The Bronze in Nations Quake Rank Season 2 goes to Clan MalFunction, congratulations. |
