week 7 is upon us 050418
Today marks the beginning of the final week of the regular season of NQR8. After this week we will have the usual "Catch-up week" where all clans will have the chance to play any games they haven't played by that point.
There are a lot of clans that have several games to play so I urge you to get them done ASAP; next Sunday we will review clans that have played a significantly low number of games and will start the process of removing them.
Congratulations meanwhile to Osams from div 3b, Bufflarna flyger i luften from div 4a and Korea Team Fighting and EGDA from Div 6a who have played all of their games for this season already. Nice going!

bad news fakenickers! 050404
A small modification has just been made to the NQR website. If you wish to post comments on any page (battles, news, columns, interviews) then you will need to login using a quakeworld.nu account. Go over to their site to register if you haven't done so before, and then login on the comments page. Easy :)

new NQR projects 050401
Here I bring you news of 2 new exciting NQR projects.
Firstly, the Smackdown North America crew has transplanted their season work onto the NQR site after a dispute with the Smackdown head admin. Check out NQR North America!
Secondly, the NQR crew is very pleased to announce the unveiling of a new ladder competition intended to replace the abortive CML. The NQR Ladder is a 4on4 ladder using the same system and rules as Ad Mortem and is now live. Go sign your team up now! I must use this post to give huge credit to aap of Shadow Minions who coded and designed the ladder site from scratch; thanks a lot man!
Edit: It appears the MySQL database for the NQR8 site has gone completely loopy for no apparent reason (nothing has been changed). Do not attempt to adjust your monitor.
Edit: Panic over! My Firefox went batshit insane temporarily and seems to have sorted its shit out now.

FuhQuake new version and rules update 050320
FuhQuake build 675 has been released. Download links are in the news post below this one.
All those using FuhQuake in NQR should update to this new build immediately. The NQR rules have been updated accordingly.
f_version must now reply FuhQuake 0.31 (build 675), and f_ruleset must reply with ruleset: smackdown [rj scripts blocked]. To put this in effect you must have "-ruleset smackdown -norjscripts" on your command line.
Edit: The ruleset does NOT block KFjump. This must be disabled serverside by typing "tkfjump". This command only works in KTPro, but seeing as KFjump is only in KTPro, that shouldn't be a problem :)

season is go! 050307

NQR8 is officially live!
Just a few things to update y'all on:
The new FuhQuake "official" release is not out yet and I have been told by Fuh Himself that it won't be out until Wednesday at the earliest.
As there is no security module for the release we are asking all players to continue to use 0.31 build 650. The crew does not want to see incidences of players using autotook or other automated team messages nor rocket jump scripts; any players caught using any of these will be reprimanded according to the rules. We realise that this is largely an issue of trust so please do not abuse this trust that we have in you the players :)
There is also not yet an official EZQuake release and so unfortunately EZQuake will not be allowed for use in NQR8 until that official release is public. This is because the crew had already voted to not allow EZQuake into NQR8 and our verdict was only reversed when we were told about the changes made in the final build. Sorry to disappoint you EZQ fans, but you'll have to hang on a while longer.
Finally, you can read gaz's first column article of the season by clicking here. Enjoy.
